Costello Jewellers Student of the Year Awards

The Costello Jewellers Student of the Year Awards were established in 1995. The Student of the Year is not an academic award, the student selected by their classmates and teachers is usually a person who has made a meaningful contribution to their year by their actions. It is awarded to a fourth or fifth year student and the student receives a perpetual trophy and a gift voucher.

Past winners included a boy who had been named national Scout of the Year, a girl who had organised numerous social activities for her classmates, a boy who did a huge amount of work in establishing the computer room in his school and a girl who had overcome physical disability to excel at her studies. The awards were presented in the following schools;

Loreto Abbey Dalkey, St. Raphaela Secondary School Stillorgan, Newpark Comprehensive Blackrock, Colaiste Raithin Bray,St. David's Greystones, Holy Child School Killiney,St. Killians Bray,St. Thomas' Community College Bray,Loreto Foxrock, Colaiste Iosagain Stillorgan, Dominican College Wicklow, Cabinteely Community School, Rockford Manor Blackrock,St. Laurence College Loughlinstown.

Another initiative of Costello Jewellers was to sponsor Student of the Year awards in 14 of the local secondary schools. Pictured below are some of the recipients receiving their award from Eoin Costello.
